Well done Phil. Please let me know your web address. I do hope your products are not like "toilet paper" "crap" pardon the pun!
the very best with it all Phil and I totally agree with you, why not embrace the on line revolution and at the same time have products under your name instead of the large corporations, after all it is US "the professional hairdresser" and sales persons that makes them their profits so why not make a better profit and market your own name. Well done Phil. their is one thing for sure, you will not have competition on the Phil stone Line so you can maximise on the opportunity.

thanks gary!
I launched my line last week and the verdict is in, people love online shopping for hair products. I am trying to keep up with inventory and am launching 3 more products this winter. Hair products have become a commodity, like toilet paper. People grab it when they can, if the professional doesnt put it in their hands at the salon, they will end up somewhere else to get it, quite possibly my website.

The consumer is king (or Queen) at the end of the day. In this world of less time in our working lives our clients are looking for easier, less time consuming ways to purchase.
The internat has opened up a whole new world of easier shopping and I personally agree with it.
I am just delighted that the true skill of the professional hairdressers OUR SERVICES drive clients back into the salons. Something the internet cannot take away.
I think the whole online shop should be embraced and implemented into the salon ethos. I also agree with Phil Stone over the salon pricing issue. Good luck with the rage Phil

i think it's a fantastic idea. Clients are looking for convenience and great deals, and the internet is providing that. Too many salons are putting too high of a mark-up on retail and handing out smaller commissions to stylists making great products inaccessible to deserving clients. Look for my own line of products on the web in August!

Yes, I think it's just one more service in todays market. We mainly sell our own products online, and have quite a large following, since are client base is not only local but all over the country. Clients have been asking to add there skin care and soap and candles as well, recently. So for our Salon it's been a very usefull tool.

I think is okay to reach your clients via online services. We are taught in this industry about providing the highest custormer service care to our clients. And, selling products online to our clients may be accommodating for some of our clients.Anyway, I do believe those wishing to buy online that they are required to become a registered shopper-just so that we can keep record to protect from diversion.

I want to take an informal poll? How many of you as independent hairdressers and even salons are being forced to cut back on your inventory? Are you basically stocking specific products as your clients request them?
